‘Grande Baroque’ Sterling Flatware by Wallace Silversmiths, Service for Twelve. American, Mid 20th C.
Regular price $3,250
Designed by William S. Warren "to reflect the very essence of merriment and adventure, of artistic progress” and introduced in 1941, the Grande Baroque pattern exhibits an innovative three dimensional design in which the pattern is visible from front, back and side.
Each piece is crowned by an acanthus leaf accompanied beneath by a narcissus on the fork, five petaled flowers on the spoon and a rose on the knife.
The demand for the design exceeded all projections, firmly established the prominence of the Wallace Company, and contributed to growth through acquisition.
